12 BOOMERS ventured to Ptarmigan Ridge. The weather was perfect, 72 degrees and a light breeze all day long. And NO BUGS!!! This is always an amazing hike offering views, flowers and even wildlife – We saw a small herd of 9 mountain goats just off the trail Thanks to fellow BOOMER Cathy E for taking these amazon goat shots!!
HA!! Our new “comments” box is working! I LOVE this hike. I call Ptarmigan Ridge the “cadillac” of all hikes. It offers everything from sweeping views, to challenging and ever-changing terrain. 12 miles round trip and worth each and every step.
It was a spectacular day on the mountain. It’s a tough hike, that’s for sure, as witnessed by the bit of scraped skin and blood left on a rock or two and that last winding uphill to the trail head, but worth every moment. The bonus was seeing the mountain goats up close and personal, including a couple head butts by two males (typical) 😉
